Exfoliating your skin

Exfoliating your skin can certainly improve its appearance and help to prevent the formation of new spots, but don’t be tempted to treat your skin roughly.

Facial scrub

If you use a facial scrub, try to make it a gentle, unperfumed and unmedicated one. Don’t scrub too hard or for too long. Sadly, you can’t scrub spots off! What’s more, don’t scrub inflamed spots or you will spread bacteria from them to the surrounding skin.

Facial Buff

Facial buffing sponges can be good for exfoliating, but you must disinfect them after every use to kill any bacteria. Dilute some liquid antiseptic (such as Dettol or Savlon) in warm water in an old beaker and soak your buffer in it. Don’t use boiling water or the buffer will go soft!
