Acne and the sun

Many people believe that exposure to the sun or UV rays is good for clearing up acne. But unless it is recommended by a doctor, usually for very serious acne, it is not advisable. 

Skin cancer

We all know these days that over-exposure to the sun carries a real risk of skin cancer – and just because you have oily skin, it doesn’t mean you are any less susceptible to skin damage and cancers. 

What’s more, the sun causes fundamental structural damage to the skin that you might not notice for years, but as you get older it will really catch up with you. What’s more, in many cases the inflammation caused by over-exposure to the sun will make acne worse. And sunburn looks really stupid.
